RAILWAY OPERATIONS KNOWLEDGE & ASSISTANCE PLATFORM
Rail Project Scope & Delivery Context
The project delivered an edge-based AI assistant for railway operators, maintenance teams, and engineers using a pre-trained language model. It integrated operational databases and IoT data from track and rolling-stock sensors with railway manuals and standard operating procedures. Staff could use text or voice queries for train status, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting guidance. Inference ran locally on NVIDIA edge devices without a cloud dependency.
Technical Scope & Delivered Requirements
Rail Integration & Delivery Challenges
- Operational databases, live IoT sources, manuals, and standard operating procedures need to work together in context
- Operator queries require both railway knowledge and current train or asset data
- The interface must support text and voice queries for train status, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting
- Local inference on edge hardware must support the solution without cloud dependency
Project Delivery Workstreams
Integrate Operational and IoT Sources
Connect operational databases, asset data, and live telemetry from track and rolling-stock sensors.
Connect Railway Knowledge
Bring manuals and standard operating procedures into the assistant’s contextual response flow.
Build the Operator Interface
Support text and voice queries about train status, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting.
Deploy Local Model Inference
Run the pre-trained language model on NVIDIA edge hardware without cloud dependency.
Test, Validate, and Document
